Response to Discussion Starter 2 - Bill of Rights

By Peter Goodsell

I agree with the broad statement that this country urgently requires a specific Bill of Rights in written form. The exact concept should be decided by the July conference. My preference would be for a broad document - where necessary, specific clauses could be added as the occasion and issue arise. I am not enamoured of dotting every 'I' and crossing every 'T' and thus possibly getting bogged down in the minutiae of a proposed future model for an Australian Bill of Rights.
